Stephanie Eidt
Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP) University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point
Stephanie Eidt acquired her bachelor’s degree in Zoo and Wildlife Biology from Malone University in 2016. She worked a season for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and The Ohio State University Stone Laboratory before coming to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2019. She is in her second year of the master’s program in natural resources with an emphasis in environmental education and interpretation. Her research assistantship is with the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP) which is housed on campus.
Stephanie’s main project for KEEP has been the development of a solar dashboard lesson which is described in this snapshot. Her thesis also focuses on the potential for students to connect with dashboards. She is assessing the effectiveness of energy education activities, including dashboard engagement, to inspire behavior change. The study uses energy contests conducted in K-12 schools as a backdrop to compare participation in activities to energy savings recorded by monitoring hardware. Both projects emphasize how visualization technology is valuable for connecting individuals to systems often otherwise overlooked.
Stephanie’s appreciates the collaborative nature of her work. She would like to thank her colleagues at KEEP for their continued support and her thesis partner Renew our Schools for access to their energy contest data. She welcomes your interest in and feedback on her projects by email at
