Joshua Sousa is a visionary leader and passionate educator with over 15  years of experience in the educational field. Joshua, ASCD's National Partnership Manager covering the US, is creating partnerships with schools and helping institutions all over the world build the capacity of their educators to transform teaching and learning. Joshua partners with schools to leverage ASCD's 75 years of research-backed professional learning experiences they have delivered around the world.

He has a wealth of experience in education in both district and charter schools. He was part of a start up team of distinguished educators ,including two national superintendents of the year. The organization provided services in 17 states and 75 districts in areas such as: school improvement, charter school support, early childhood, family and community engagement and supplemental education services. He has an extensive background in education, including overseeing the development and design of charter schools across the United States. He has been awarded grants for technology, innovation, and student services. He has held the following positions: National Charter School Development Consultant, Curriculum Director, School Principal, Instructional Coach, Teacher, and Mentor.
Joshua was part of a school leader cohort that visited 30 of the top performing charter schools across the country. In 2016, Joshua was part of the Center for Digital Education’s superintendents working group, where he worked with 16 innovative superintendents to write a white paper guiding school leaders on how to succeed with education technology. Most recently, Joshua worked with a nonprofit organization supporting 18 inner city schools in Miami Dade County Public Schools, by providing guidance and support.

Joshua is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he earned his BS Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. He is hoping to complete his Masters in School Law at Nova Southeastern University this summer.
He lives in Miami Beach Florida with his beautiful wife and their two cats.
