We teach who we are first and the curriculum second. In a country where 80% of teachers are white and most are not racially conscious we need to work to first learn about ourselves as racial beings before we can effectively teach all kids. This session will take a dive into race, racial consciousness, bias, critical race theory and how to use all of these as tools to evaluate your curriculum, classroom and interactions with students, colleagues and families.
