Project-based learning transforms the roles of students and teachers in ways that benefit all.  One of the biggest hurdles for many teachers new to PBL is the need to give up some degree of control over the classroom, and trust in their students.  Giving students ownership over their learning helps students develop a sense of agency as learners and as people.  Project-based learning can be messy and complicated.  Come learn from the teachers and leaders at Northwest Passage High School who have been successfully implementing PBL for well over a decade.

WRCCS Competencies:
  • Classroom: Academic Program: Develops/refines well-researched academic programs that match the mission and vision of the charter school and well researched academic program that meets identified student needs.
  • Classroom Academic Program:  Outlines/revisits your school's level of student autonomy
